Àmbit is an association that has a team of 28 professionals and a large group of volunteers. Up to 27% of our staff is composed of vulnerable groups (migrant women and former inmates with functional diversity). Together, partners, workers and volunteers have been working for over 28 years years to build bridges and pave the way for access to the socio-community life of prisoners and ex-prisoners and people with mental illness in prison, People who do not have a favorable social environment or immigrants who can only obtain prison permits through our endorsement.

The aim of ÀMBIT position towards migration is based on the Human Rights perspective of migration and asylum seeking as fundamental rights, as stated in articles 13 and 14 of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights.

Àmbit philosophy is also based on the idea of offering alternatives to the “punishment” approach, which is normally not effective in the long term for people who suffer or have suffered in situation of social exclusion. The approach proposed is based on the creation of a connection from the perspective of rehabilitation.
